Dussehra, also called Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu festival celebrating the victory of good over evil, marking Lord Rama’s defeat of demon king Ravana (symbolizing truth overcoming falsehood) or Goddess Durga’s triumph over Mahishasura. Celebrated on the tenth day after Navratri in September/October, it features Ram Leela enactments, burning giant Ravana effigies, vibrant fairs, and worshipping divine power, symbolizing righteousness and new beginnings.
